EasterHop along to Torbay, Devon during Easter and you may well spot a bunny or two. With Easter events for all the family, from egg-hunts to garden talks, you can celebrate spring the way you want to during your next visit to the English Riviera, Devon.
Hunting in the gardens for some funEaster wouldn’t be Easter without an egg hunt. And you’ll find lots to choose from across the English Riviera. Two of the biggest are at Coleton Fishacre and Greenway. A great way to enjoy the spring sunshine (and encourage the children to get a little exercise to work off all that chocolate!) you’ll find fun trails around the beautiful gardens and grounds of these National Trust properties. Tick off all the items and your reward will be a delicious chocolate treat!
Egg-cellent fun at Babbacombe, Paignton and Torquay
There’s more Easter egg hunt fun at Babbacombe Model Village. Here you’ll find a trail to explore the four acres of gardens and the miniature model village. There’s a chocolatey reward for egg-splorers who find all the eggs – though some may be very little and harder to spot!
Or discover that it’s not just birds that lay eggs at Paignton Zoo. Find out about reptiles, tortoises, crocodiles, and more with their Easter egg trail with a twist. Or learn even more fun facts about eggs at Living Coasts in Torquay, which organises a fun trail, special talks, and other activities during the Easter break.
ChocolateThe tremendous grounds at Cockington Court are another great spot for the children to run around and enjoy an Easter trail or have a go at springtime crafts. You’ll also find yourself on the doorstep of chocolate heaven at the Cockington Chocolate Company. Located in a studio just behind Cockington Court, here you can watch the chocolatier in action creating all manner of wonderful objects from chocolate – including eggs and rabbits of course!
Easter CookingWhilst most of us love to indulge in some extra chocolate at Easter, it’s also a time for other sweet treats. Occombe Farm Cookery School organises special Easter cookery days for children, where your mini-chef can learn all about making hot cross buns and simnel cake.
All aboard for some Easter funHop aboard the Dartmouth steam train at Paignton and play I-spy to win an Easter treat. Keep eyes peeled because you may also spot the Easter bunny (as well as some real rabbits in the fields as the train majestically puffs by.)
